The VERTICALSKY 9 is a new SKY challenge.

The route connects Agaete with the Pinar de Tamadaba, a unique natural resource on the island at an altitude of more than 1,200 meters.

The route will start from the Plaza de la Constitución, next to the Church of Agaete, in the village.

There will be 9 kilometers of route and more than 1,000 positive metres, almost 1,400 metres in total in 9 kilometers, which makes an authentic vertical race, with an average of 155 metres of difference in altitude per kilometer run.

It is a very fast start through the village of Agaete, on asphalted ground, which in just 300 meters turns into a path that steepens quickly until it reaches Horno de Cal. From there it becomes a more bearable path until kilometer 5,1 (Era de Berbique), where it joins the path down to San Pedro.  From here begins the hardest and most beautiful part of the race until the finish line.

Departures will be every minute on an individual basis.

The first start will be at 5:00 pm. and the last start at 6:15 pm.

At the end of the race and after the refreshments, runners must return by their own means to the starting point or hire the transport service from Tamadaba to the start.

There will be an absolute classification, with prizes for the top 5 in each gender.

All finishers will receive a medal.
